Barley & Health: eat it's Grain, drink it's Water

Barley has been used for many years in the treatment of illness and health maintenance. It's not only tastes good  but it provides nutrition to the body as well. So, today I choose Barley as my topic for I think people should consume it more, as it offers tremendous benefits for the health of our bodies.

What's great about barley is that both eating and drinking it's water provides the body with nourishment. So, in a whole go, just gulp both down to satiate your tummy and quench your thirst with goodness.

What barley offers:
  • Fiber(It provides us with both soluble and insoluble fiber),Protein, and vitamins.
  • It lowers blood cholesterol level.
  • May inhibit cancer.
  • Improves bowel problems and aids constipation.
  • Healthy for the heart.
  • It fights off diabetes.
  • Contains antioxidants, fights off free radicals.
  • Prevents premature aging.
  • It's water should be consumed regularly as it acts as a detoxifiying agent.
  • It offers food for the friendly bacteria in our gut.
  • Improves and maintains colon health.
  • Rich in Niacin, which effectively prevents cardiovascular diseases.
  • Fights off the formation of gallstones.
  • Helpful in asthmatic conditions.
Wash thoroughly before cooking, after a boil it's water could be added into soups and broths for extra flavor.Barley contains gluten, so precautions for those with allergic conditions.Here is a recipe to make barley water.


Simple Barley Drink
  • You'll need a cup of barley grains(thoroughly washed), bring to boil.
  • Brown sugar(add in accordance to your taste buds)
  • Next, add a cup of fresh milk.
