How do you sleep?

Are you having enough sleep? Are you sleeping well? Are you sleeping at the right hours?

I did wrote on sleep in my article, sleep like a baby. However, I'd like to mention this topic once more as I think not many of our eyes are open to why is it so important to get; 1)enough sleep, 2)sleep at the right time 3)benefits of sleeping.

I know, understand and experience it myself, deprivation of sleeping. But, I hope to sleep better in the future, I sure you hope to do so too. The long hours of unachievable sleep will take a toll on our health. Have you ever wonder why we have day and night? The days are lighten up by the sun, as a signal to wake up and work, for activities to be done while the nights are dark, only dimmed light from the moon is available, a sign for us to slow down, go back home and the vital part, sleeping.

Even as moms with newborn or older babies, I think it is important that we train our little children that night time is sleeping time, be discipline and teach them to sleep early. As for newborn babies, sometimes they wake up in the middle of the night or 3 o'clock in the morning ,feed them and let them be, don't carry them all around the house for hours as they might think this is a normal activity to be done in the wee hours of the day and possibly continue to wake up for walks around the house every night. Eventually you'll get a fatigue and your kid will have sleeping issues till they grow up. If they cry ,let them be, I surveyed a few cases and these babies usually don't cry for long. They cry to get your attention( how else can they get attention?) so don't go anxious over a cry, if it doesn't sound harmful it's just a way they communicate. Relax. This is the better way to develop your child and to be fair to yourself. Kids won't be developing well if they're missing out on night's sleep.

As for grown ups, lack of sleeps causes:-
  • Headaches
  • Loss of concentration and forgetfulness.
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Heart function distorted, irregular heart beats and increase the risk for heart attacks.
  • Burdens the kidneys
  • Induce mental-related disorders, depression, stress and anxiety.
  • Alters metabolism and disrupts hormone production
  • Diabetes and high-blood pressure.
  • Lowers libido
  • Premature aging
  • Weight gain
  • Irritability
So, please try to get enough sleep, as sleeping does more than just regaining your loss energy. It does more than just that, let's look at the benefits of having enough sleep:-
  •  Assist weight loss
  • Reduce the chance for diabetese
  • Reduce the chance for raised blood pressure and cardiovascular disorders
  • Improve mental alertness and improves memory
  • Eliminates stress
  • Improves heart health
  • Reduce inflammation
The best hours for sleeping is between 10p.m. - 6a.m. and a nap in the afternoon is also beneficial for brain enhancement. Next time you're up late, consider your health and go to sleep.

It's important to sleep on time. Having at least 7-9 hours of sleep a day is vital as well. Thanks for sharing.
